The Obsidian Therapy Group

Cost Considerations & Access to Care

At Obsidian Therapy Group, we understand that cost can be a significant factor when deciding to pursue therapy. We believe that mental health care should be accessible and affordable for all, and we are committed to working with our clients to reduce financial barriers. Whether you are using insurance, are uninsured, or paying out-of-pocket, we will collaborate with you to find a payment plan or sliding scale option that fits your situation. Your well-being is our priority, and we will do our best to ensure that cost is not a deterrent to getting the support you deserve.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

Effective January 1, 2022, under the federal No Surprises Act, all healthcare providers are required to give clients who are uninsured or not using insurance a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for services.

At Obsidian Therapy Group, we are committed to transparency and helping you make informed decisions about your mental health care.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

If you do not have insurance or do not plan to use your insurance, you have the right to receive a written Good Faith Estimate explaining the cost of your care before you begin services.

This estimate will include:

  • The total expected cost of scheduled services (such as therapy sessions, assessments, and other mental health services)

  • The number and frequency of sessions (if known or reasonably expected)

  • Information about your rights to dispute unexpected charge

We are happy to provide this estimate in writing upon scheduling at least 1 business day before your first appointment or upon request.

Sample Estimate of Services

Depending on your individual needs, services may include:

Total cost varies based on treatment goals and frequency of sessions. A full Good Faith Estimate will be provided once your service plan is developed.

Note: These rates for cost are based on a private pay rate (not using insurance) and does not include the sliding scale (reduced rates for therapy).

Dispute Resolution and Your Rights

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you may dispute the charges.

You can:

  • Contact us to review the bill

  • Request an itemized breakdown

  • Initiate a formal dispute with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)

Sliding Scale

Access to Care Statement
At The Healing Trees, we believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health services, regardless of financial circumstances.
No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. We offer a discounted/sliding fee schedule to ensure affordability, with rates adjusted based on family size and income.

Sliding Scale

Obsidian Therapy Group offers a sliding scale fee structure to make therapy more accessible to individuals and families with limited financial resources. Discounted rates are available to those who qualify, including households earning at or below 200% of the current Federal Poverty Guidelines. If you believe you may be eligible, we encourage you to contact our office to apply. Verification of income will be required as part of the application process.
